大石 卓
Taku OISHI
In 1962, Taku Oishi was born in Tokyo and spent his childhood in Thailand and Vietnam.
He was fond of comics and moved to Brazil with his family at the age of 13. In San Paulo, he began to learn and was devoted to oil painting.
In 1981, he entered an oil painting course of Tokyo University of the Arts right after high school in Japan. At university, he was interested in crafting puppets and designing clothes as well as oil painting. In his senior year, he attended a vocational school to study them at the same time.
In 1985, he put on a graduate exhibition of paintings. After graduation, he worked for some companies in various fields such as clothing. From 1988 to 1992, he stayed in Paris to broaden his knowledge.
In 1992 when he moved back to Japan, he began to paint again at the age of 30. He worked as a freelance designer, illustrator, visual merchandiser for department stores' display showcases, and art teacher afterward.
In 1995 and 1998, he held a personal art exhibition in Ginza and Aoyama respectively.
In 2000, he established an underwear manufacturer for men. In his 40s, he did not pick up a paintbrush. In 2009, he attended the University of Tokyo Executive Management Program to review the management. The experience made him realize the importance of painting to him and he got an honorable retirement in 2014. In his early 50s, he began oil painting again and maintained the art activities with energy up to the present date.
